“Most of the Spätaussiedler, the so called Russian Germans are not from the Russian Federation. If you add up the numbers from Kazakhstan and Ukraine then they are the majorities. So, I feel it has to be pronounced, to be able to explain that. Of course, they don’t feel addressed when there is a call for the so called ‘Russian Germans’ to position themselves. Why should they? They never lived in modern Russia.”
