Tech for Society

‘Ageing with Tech’ becomes ‘Tech for Society’

In addition to access to new technologies, we are increasingly focusing on the digital engagement of older people and their active participation of responsibility in the digital transformation.

Our society is getting older and more digital.

In an age of accelerating technological progress, both the ageing process and digitalization are advancing at an unprecedented pace. Both present opportunities and risks for our social cohesion and democracy.

Age. Knowledge. Responsibility.

The Ageing with Tech Festival 2024 already celebrated the opportunities of future technologies and artificial intelligence for older people.

The Tech for Society Festival 2025 is going one step further and will focus on the potential of older people in the connected society. After all, older people can and want to take responsibility – in the digital space and with digital means.

During the Logged in! week, we are shining a light on initiatives and actors that promote the digitalization of older people. Together with local partners, we are inviting people aged 50 and over in different cities to discover their passion for surfing, blogging or gaming, and to immerse themselves in the digital world of older people. A rapidly digitizing society needs citizens who can confidently take advantage of the opportunities and manage the risks of progress.

In our publication Uncover: Smart Ageing, we provide insights into the digital lives of older generations. It is based on a broad survey of people aged 50 and over about their ideas and needs for technology as they age.
