The STEMforum is a regional network to strengthen STEM education in the Hanseatic city and metropolitan region of Hamburg. It networks more than 70 initiatives, projects and extracurricular places of learning, and supports educational practice through communication and event offerings to get children and young people excited about STEM.

A strong network for STEM education: Active as an informal alliance since 2010, the STEMforum was founded in 2018 as an association to promote STEM education in the Hamburg Metropolitan Region. Jointly sponsored by the Körber-Stiftung, the Joachim Herz Foundation, the Nordmetall Foundation and the Hamburg Education and Social Services Authority, the association is involved with information, networking and qualification offers, and with action days and a joint platform. More than 70 initiatives, projects and extracurricular places of learning form the network, and with their formats they inspire children and young people for STEM – a valuable addition to and support for STEM education in schools. The Joachim Herz Foundation and the Nordmetall Foundation are represented on the Management Board in addition to the Körber-Stiftung. The office and project management are located in Grindelallee in Hamburg.

MINT-Tag Hamburg

MINT ist vielfältig: Alle zwei Jahre begeistert der MINT-Tag Hamburg mit einem Wettbewerb und einem bunten Programm Kinder und Jugendliche für Mathematik, Informatik, Naturwissenschaften und Technik. Schirmherrin ist Bildungssenatorin Ksenija Bekeris. Der nächste MINT-Tag findet am 28. November 2024 statt.

Dritte Orte für MINT-Bildung in Billstedt - DOM Hamburg

Mit dem Pilotprojekt „DOM Hamburg“ bringt das MINTforum Hamburg mehr MINT-Bildung zu Kindern und Jugendlichen im Alter von 10 bis 16 Jahren nach Billstedt. Diese sollen an den sogenannten “Dritten Orten” stattfinden, also in Jugendzentren, Freizeittreffs, Bibliotheken und Museen. Ziel ist, die Chancengerechtigkeit im Zugang zu MINT-Themen und -Berufen zu fördern.
