Berlin Foreign Policy Forum 2024
Over the past years, German foreign policy has been confronted with an increasing fragmentation of the global order. In this age of growing multipolarity, questions of peace, security, and stability have re-emerged in Europe and become ever more urgent around the globe. With Western values and EU cohesion under scrutiny, German leadership is in demand as a force for sustainable change to confront new realities and to develop credible resilience. Finding common ground and maintaining dialogue is crucial in securing Europe’s role in shaping the world of tomorrow and meeting expectations on the international stage.
Taking place against the backdrop of a multitude of global tipping points and only a few days after the US presidential elections, the Berlin Forum 2024 addressed today’s most pressing questions of German foreign policy: Which old alliances will last, and which strategic partnerships are yet to be built? How will Europe respond to the simultaneous crises and balance ad hoc reactions with long-term solutions? How to ensure that dialogue remains possible, without allowing the right of the stronger to prevail?
