Berlin Foreign Policy Forum 2022
The Price of Peace: Rethinking Security for Germany and Europe
The Russian invasion of Ukraine has shaken the foundations of German foreign policy beliefs – a ‘Zeitenwende’.
At the Berlin Foreign Policy Forum 2023 high-ranking participants from government, politics, academia discussed the repercussions of the so called ‘Zeitenwende’ for Germany’s international action while shedding light on both domestic and international perspectives and expectations.
How can a European security order of the future look like? How should Germany and Europe address the geo-economic distortions of the conflict? What are the implications of Russia’s aggression for the Indo-Pacific strategies of Western partners? What challenges does the war pose for countries in the Global South and for German development cooperation?
These and other questions were discussed at the Berlin Foreign Policy Forum 2022 under the title “The Price of Peace: Rethinking Security for Germany and Europe.”
