Exile Media Forum 2023 – Panel: Exile Journalism from Russia and Belarus

The Russian war of aggression against Ukraine in 2021 forced more than a thousand journalists from Belarus and Russia to flee their countries. This was due to the severe restrictions on press freedom in their countries of origin and the oppression of the respective governments. The war is still going on and a change of rulers is ruled out for the time being.
