The Jewish musician Coco Schumann was deported to Theresienstadt in 1943, where he played in the jazz band ‘Ghetto Swingers’. After the war, he was active in numerous radio and television bands in Australia and Germany, composed his own jazz and swing pieces and founded the Coco Schumann Quartet. In 2013, he left his arrangements to the electric guitarist Alexander Kranich, who performs them with his quintet and Schumann’s original guitar, telling the story of Schumann’s life.
