Secret friends
The play “Secret Friends” is based on the novel “The Yellow Bird” by Myron Levoy. The twelve-year-old Jewish boy Alan lives with his parents in New York. The Second World War seems very far away until one day Naomi, who is about the same age, moves in with neighbours. She has fled France with her mother after witnessing her father being beaten to death by the Gestapo. She is severely traumatised and Alan is asked to look after the girl.
