The Apfel family - A fate as a memorial
Two stumbling stones in front of the Euro Theatre Central commemorate the Jewish couple Siegmund and Minna Apfel. Why did they not flee into exile before being deported by the National Socialists? Research findings form the basis of a theatre play that gives the couple a face and a biography. Their former home serves as the backdrop. Their individual story is a cautionary element of an interdisciplinary collage that also approaches the understanding of exile from different angles.
