Exile in cultural history
The mobility of artists, patrons and artworks has always been a driving factor in the history of art and culture. Changes of location are not always voluntary, but part of the history of violence, especially in the 20th century. In a tour through the museum, which ranges from the Middle Ages to modern times, the guided tour looks at various forms of exile and experiences of mobility that have characterised the cultural development of the Rhineland.
