The Mediterranean Monologues

The Mediterranean Monologues tell the story of people who take the risky route across the Mediterranean in the hope of being able to live in safety in Europe. They report on the actions of Libyan coast guards, Italian sea rescue centres and German authorities, and on activists who are doing something to stop the deaths in the Mediterranean. They are based verbatim on interviews that author Michael Ruf conducted over hours, sometimes over days, and then merely condensed.
