The GDR in the West

Ines Geipel and Joachim Walther sel. A. dedicate the book series “Die Verschwiegene Bibliothek” and the documentary “Gesperrte Ablage” (new edition 2024) to the texts of authors who left the GDR and continued their literary work in exile in West Germany. Ines Geipel and author Franziska Groszer talk about their experiences in the GDR, the difficulties of gaining a foothold in the West and the consequences for their literary work.
