Artificial Memories. Decolonizing our Minds and Data
Nora Al-Badri will talk about her conceptualization of technoheritage: what happens when technology/ artificial intelligence, decoloniality and museum collections come together?
Talking to moderator Marcus Richter, Al-Badri will discuss which new questions, in the realm of politics of representation and collective memory, can be raised through the lenses and voices of AI as an artistic tool. Will the subaltern start speaking or are we even amplifying the good old colonial power structures and oversimplify the world with limited machinic abstraction?
Nora Al-Badri ist multidisziplinäre und konzeptuelle Medienkünstlerin. Sie studierte Politikwissenschaften an der Johann Wolfgang Goethe-Universität in Frankfurt am Main und ist Dozentin am ETH AI Center in Zürich. Ihre künstlerische Praxis konzentriert sich auf die Politik und das emanzipatorische Potenzial neuer Technologien – diesbezüglich befasst sie sich mit spekulativer Archäologie und performativen Interventionen in Museen und anderen öffentlichen Räumen.
Marcus Richter ist Moderator. On Air und auf (virtuellen) Bühnen. Er beschäftigt sich mit einer Reihe von Themen, die fast immer mit der digitalen Sphäre verbunden sind: Kultur, Games, Bildung und gesellschaftliche Veränderungen.
